After shool I got a License as a cosmetologist and had my own business for 2 years in St. Joseph, Mo. My husband was transferred to LA with his job(Carnation Co.) so I then changed my profession. I went to work at Carnation world headquarters where my husband worked and became a Paralegal handling Trademarks and Copyrights worldwide. during my career at Carantion. I worked for the company for 12years. In 1987 the division of Carnation now Nestle that my husband worked for was sold and he got a golden hand shake so in 1988 my husband & I opened Kent Jewelry & Loan, Inc. a Pawnshop in Kent, WA. (My husband is from Seattle). Our two sons(ages 38 and 35) both work with us and 2 of our grand childern work at our business during school breaks to earn spending money.
