Beverly's Story
After graduating from Wyandotte 1972, I joined the Navy and was stationed at Naval Air Station in Pensacola, FL. Training Squadron VT-10 in the flight office, taking care of pilots' and student navigators' flight logs and training records. Honorably discharged in 1975, I worked at General Motors Assembly plant in Fairfax until 1980, the year I married my husband Larry Stone. I worked a variety of jobs until I was employed by the US Army Corps of Engineers in 1984 in Federal Office Building KCMO and retired as a Program Analyst in Dec 2017. frame and the numerous travel opportunities my job called for, including 2 deployments to Afghanistan one for 1 year Jan- Dec 2007 and then 6 mos Aug 2011- Jan 2012. We reside in Tonganoxie, KS since 1989 where we raised our daughter Samantha Rochelle, she graduated in 2006 from Tonganoxie HS and married in 2017. Two step daughters(one in Arkansas, the other in Lenexa, KS) have blessed us with 2 grandchildren and one great grandson. Life has been good to me in all ways - I enjoy reading, time with family & friends, traveling, outside gardening (when its not too hot) and taking care of my feline fur babies.
