Bill's Story

I gave up on Police work, even though I did love the job. Became an EMT, worked at home and several companies around Dallas/Ft. Worth. Finally became a paramedic in 1993. Worked in Texas, Mississippi(1995-98), and North Carolina(1998). Moved back home to Texas in 2001. I worked as a security patrol officer for a couple of companies, making it to sergeant at one of them for a break in EMS. I'm now in Elmo, east of Terrell. I'm in the fire department as firefighter/Paramedic.. Working two par time jobs. One I get paid to watch dirt track races, better than NASCAR, the other is at the Dallas Convention Center doing medical st...Expand for more
andbys. Getting tired of EMS after 38 years. Too many changes and the caliber of people coming in is pathetic.. . Update. Decided to take early retirement last year, Between all the changes, my back, and knees, I decided 40 years was enough. Still doing the standby gigs. Got all week to do what I (don't) want to do and spend weekends as a paid spectator. For once I'm doing what I want to do and actually enjoy it. Bad part is after October I don't do many races. Got out of the fire department. It became more of a social club, and that's not why I was there. The department changed for the worse instead of getting better.
