e Union Pacific Railroad. Retired in 2010 at age 63, after finally reading the retirement requirements of my employer. I could make just as much money with my railroad retirement and military retirement as I could working full time. I consider myself a very lucky man, as I was blessed with a fantastic wife, three daughters, and seven grandchildren. I currently live in Manhattan, KS, one of the best kept secrets for retirees. Wide open outdoors, friendly people, great taxes, and relatively low cost of living. Manhattan is a university town (Kansas State University), so it has quite a diverse population and great collegiate sports.
