Bill's Story

After graduation I attended Lees-McRae Jr. College and played football for 2 years. Also played baseball 1 year. Received my A.A. Degree in '71. Transfered to Wake Forest University and played baseball 1 year. Graduated in "73 with a B.A. in Religion. Got married in June of '73 to Barbara, moved to Ft. Worth, TX to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Received my Masters Degree in '76. We moved to NC to pastor a church in Salisbury, NC. Moved to Burlington, NC to pastor another church in '79. Left Burlington for Williamsburg, VA to pastor York River Baptist Church and have been here over 29 years. We have 2 daughters and 1 son all living in the Williamsburg area and we have 5 grandchildren from 2-20 years old. Have been married now for 39 years. My son Stephen, was All-State in Football and Wrestling. Attended Liberty University and played football, then transfered to Campbell University and wrestled. mpic games and won 2 gold metals and was undefeated. Finished 2nd in the AAU Iron Man Wrestling Championships. Took 3rd place in the Coaches National Wrestling Tournament. He was an assistant Wrestling Coach at Liberty Univ. for 2 years. He is now a Student Pastor. He is married to Sarah and has a son, Blake - 2 yrs. old. My middle daughter Katie is the mother of 2 beautiful girls, Alyssa and Molly and is married to Sean. She is in management with Wyndom Properties. She teaches Sunday School and works with Children's Church. She enjoys outdoor activities and shooting. They live in the Williamsburg area. My oldest daughter is Christy. She is a mother of 3, all sons, but her middle son died soon after birth. She is is married to C.J. and she is currently free-lancing in marketing. Her oldest son Jordan (20) is a student at J. Sargent Reynolds Comm. College and her youngest is Chase(14) is in middle school. She lives in the Williamsburg area. Praise God, Life is Good!
