Bill's Story
Bill is from Leslie, Arkansas. Bill's schools include Leslie High School. Bill works(ed) at Retired.
More about Bill:"I graduated from Leslie High School in 1958 and then attended Arkansas Tech. I quit college and joined the navy in 1962. In was stationed in San Diego for nine months and then in Hawaii for two years. After that I went back to San Diego for about 1 1/2 years. After I was discharged I returned to Leslie and worked for my Dad at Derickson Lumber Co. After he retired I took over at the lumber co. After I got of the navy I married Thelma Kimbrell in 1967. She taught at Leslie for 35 years and we both retired in about 2004. Since we retired we have enjoyed traveling together. We have been on two Alaskan cruises, a Panama Canal cruise and two Caribbean cruises. We also did a bus tour in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. After that we went to Rwanda, Africa for two week and gave out Bibles throughout...Expand for more
Rwanda. We went from Rwanda to Kenya and went on a Safari. In 1976 I joined the Gideons International and January of last year (2010) I spent two weeks in India with several other Gideons handing out Bibles. Now that I have turned seventy I may have to slow down a little, but we do have another Caribbean cruise next month. That will probably be out last one. We have attended Arkansas Razorback football games eveyr year since we have been married but I think last year was our last. Driving back from Fayetteville and getting home at midnight is hard on an old man. Thelma and I have two daughters, Shawn and Michelle, and three grandchildren, Courtney, Isaac and Cassidy. Shawn married Greg Ragland and Michelle married Todd Ragland. Shawn and Greg run Derickson Lumber Co. at Marshall and Michelle and Todd run the one here in Leslie, fourth generation in the business.
I will shut-up, have probably said too much already.".
