Bill's Story
Life
I currently reside with my wife Pat in Louisville, KY.
I have two adult step-sons Eric 27, Travis 25, step-daughter, Becka 23, and two daughters Charlee 20 and Chelsea 15.
I met Pat in Vienna Austria in 1974, when I was working for the
U.S. State Dept, on Embassy Duty. Pat and I where only friends and went our own ways after my tour was complete there in 1976.
She married one of the other Marines there, and I was stationed elsewhere. Some 26 years later we met via the internet through a mutual friend trying to establish a Vienna Marines reunion. She was
divorced, as I was. We re-met each other in person in 2000, and
got married (Dec 2003) on "our" 50th birthday! Yes, birthdays and anniversary are the same day. Easier to remember dates that way...
School
Had fun at both Saguaro (Freshmen year) and at Santa Rita. Made a lot of good friends and had a lot of good times! But did not care for "schooling", was probably boring for me, that's why I ...Expand for more
joined the Marines, I guess...
Some of the buddies, Frank Rau, Jeff Hughes, Bob Prael, Jim LaCascio, Larry Wright, Steve Erickson, and my brother Jim Grzeskowiak.
College
Attended Carterett Community College, Morehead City, N.C.
and received my EMT certification.
Workplace
Since being fully retired military, I only work as a part-time assembler for Lowes, (been with them 5 yrs) and enjoying it!
Military
We graduated on 8 June 1972. On 23 June 1972 I was standing on the "yellow footprints" at the United States Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA.
After 30 years of faithful and dedicated service to God, Country and Corps, I retired on 30 June 2002. I am world traveled, combat tested, and a highly decorated Veteran. I attained the highest enlisted rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant (E-9). My Military Occupational Specilaty (MOS) was a 0291, Intelligence Chief. I was in the Communications, Intelligence, and Security business my entire career.
