Bill's Story
I am married to Leslie Horton (in 1990) and have two sons, Chris and Carter. Leslie is the Elementary Director at Grace Bible Church in Virginia Beach. Chris is a minister and is moving in January 2020 to Jackson, MS. Carter is an actor and lives in upper Manhattan, NYC. I graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1983 and was on active duty for 4 years at Langley AFB in Hampton. I have been living in Virginia Beach, Virginia since 1993 and worked in the private sector for a variety of firms doing civil engineering site and utility design for 20 years. base in the Kingdom of Bahrain. While working in Bahrain I was blessed to travel to Naples, Mt. Vesuvius, Pompeii and Rome, Italy; Crete and Athens, Greece; Amsterdam, Netherlands; and San Francisco, CA. I saw more of the world in 2012-2013 than in the previous 30 years. I returned from Bahrain in late 2013 to be the Chief Engineer at the VA Medical Center in Manhattan, NY. I returned to Virginia Beach in 2015 and work for Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Public Works Department at Norfolk Naval Base and Joint Base Little Creek-Fort Story. In January 2020 I transferred to Cuba to be the Deputy Public Works Officer.
