Here are the high points in outline since '72: FAMILY: - Married in January '78, to Mary Beth - Children: + Emily, '80; who is now married and blessed us with a grand daughter in '07 and a grandson in '14. + Anna, '86; who is married and blessed us with another grandson in '15 EDUCATION: College: Mercer University, '72-'76 BA in Christianity Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, - Master of Divinity, '76-'80 - Doctor of Ministry, '93-'97 PROFESSIONAL: Pastor - Norman Park, GA, '80-'83 - Claxton, GA, '83-'93 - Dahlonega, GA, '93 to 2016 Semi-retired/Financial Services - Dahlonega, GA '17-present Never imagined becoming a pastor before '78. but God has other plans. Now, after 38 years of serving congregations, I cannot imagine having spent my time and energy doing anything more gratifying. Thankfully, my life has avoided the relational and professional turn-over trends: been happily married (with ups & downs) for 40 years and pastored in two communities for 10+ years. I pray that my bride continues her graceful toleration! Since March '17 I have operated my own Financial Services business, offering life insurance, tax-advantaged retirement instruments, help with debt management, opportunities for investments and active money management. This is a new venture for me as I continue to preach in an occasional capacity as called on by congregations in the area.
