Bill's Story
Life
Graduated with B.A. from Queens University and a M.Ed. from the University of Toronto. Was enrolled in an MBA Program at U. of T's School of Business but withdrew when I got involved in politics. Worked as teacher (6 years), vice principal (4 yrs), and principal (24 yrs) with the Scarborough Board of Education. Following retirement in 1996, I went to China to teach in Shijiazhuang, the burial place of Dr. Norman Bethune. I later worked at the Yunnan Economic and Trade Institute in Kunming. I also worked for a while as a Secondary School Maths Instructor in the UK and also organized and administered the Egyptian American Language School in Cairo, Egypt. I enjoy cottaging at the cottage I built bordering Algonquin Park, painting, writing, singing and guitar, downhill and cross country skiing, hiking, camping, canoeing, travel, Christmas Tree Farming and reading. I presently live in Oshawa where I was the Federal Conservative Candidate in the 1990 by-election. I also was responsible for bringing Ward Electoral Politics to Oshawa Municipal Government and personally presented the case for the ward system to a 21 day OMB Hearing. I was also President of the Local Rotary Club and then District Governor's Representative for 2 years.
