Bill's Story

Life Graduated from PHS in 1965...Went to Delta State to play baseball...Graduated from Delta State in '69, and got married to Cheryl Thomas from Leland, MS that summer...Coached at Meridian HS for (7) years...Won (2) baseball state championships...Both children Stacy, daughter, and Brett, son born in Meridian...Moved to Texarkana, TX and coached (7) years. moved to Hinds CC to coach (1) year, moved back to Lufkin, TX and coa...Expand for more
ched (5), before becoming head baseabll coach at Delta State in 1988...Coached for (8) years winning (3) conference titles, appeared in (5) NCAA regional tournaments, and took teams to (2) NCAA Division II World Series...Gave up coaching 1fter 1996 season and now teach in HPER Dept. at Delta State and am responsible for Athletic Alumni and Sports Hall of Fame...A jeeping accident left me paralyzed from my chest down in 1993...
