Bill's Story
“Time keeps on slipping, slipping into the future.” Another very long hot smoky summer has passed. Almost a bad dream as I watched hundreds of thousands of acres of timber go up in smoke. Job security I suppose, but the damage is irreparable due to continued high temperatures and drought. I still plan on squeezing out another year on Teton Helitack but have been toying with the idea of being a wilderness ranger for the USFS and hiking in the Wind River Mountains and doing helicopter managing as needed. My granddaughter continues to mature and quite a handful at 3 years old. ...Expand for more
I will take time to teach her to ski this spring, hopefully it will snow in Colorado. My mother continues to rock it at 88 years old and is in good health. Otherwise,I turned down a So Cal Fire assignment four days ago to stay in the Tetons and ski. Everyday I feel blessed to continue doing the things I love; especially at work as my co workers both winter and summer are special people. I continue to learn; although my guess is that I am 15 years behind where I should be, no real surprise there. Pray for world peace and a better future for our children and grandchildren.✌🏻❄️
