Bill's Story
Life:
Retired in 2001. I'm married and have two girls. Kenzie earned a BS from Campbellsville University, earned her MS degree from the University of Kentucky, and is married. Shelley graduated from Western Kentucky University.
I taught 11 years for Kentucky State University, 1 year for the Franklin County School System, and 14 years for the Frankfort Independent School System. I spent many summers travelling throughout the US and Canada. Sold the Airstream in 2012. Spent one summer working at NASA's Langley Research Center in the Microelectronics Section.
I live in Franklin County, but my mailbox and barns reside in Anderson County.
Try as I can to attend the class gatherings that Betty Harrod arranges, I am usually asleep when they happen each month. My medications dictate that I avoid direct sunlight, so I am now mostly up when the sun isn't shining. I work around other sleep schedules in the household. to be a drop ship operation from China. It took a couple of weeks to get the needed parts that I used to be able to get from the wholesalers in Lexington on the same day. I still teach people how to buy Federal Government retired vehicles. They range from 6000 miles on up to around 100,000 mile. Most average between 30,000 to 40,000 miles. I have a few rental properties. For those who may not know, I taught automotive Mechanics, Hydraulics, Wood Working, Electrical Wiring. Programmable Logic Controllers, Electronics, Robotics, General Metals, Ladder Logic, General Shop and quite a few other topics. I've been cutting firewood this week after daylight breaks for next winter. There is always something keeping me busy. Last week it was the hydraulics on the tractor and a noisy limited slip differential on the one ton truck. Both were just time consuming. Tractor took 6 gallons of hydraulic fluid into a 1/2" fill hole.. There is always grass to be mowed. I read during the night time hours. Those with whom I communicate via the written word, urge me to write books. Enough for now, Bill
