Bill's Story

Life After Tilden, I went to Columbia and graduated in 1965. I hitched around Europe for 8 months in 1966, and taught in Harlem for 4 years to keep out of Vietnam. Drove a cab, managed a bookstore, waitered. Got a Masters in English. I began going to therapy at 28 to get a grip on life, got a MSW at 32, and began a therapy pvt. practice, which I still have. Married at 37, it's 24 yrs now. One 20 year son who is working in Buffalo New York, where he'd gone to college but told us that he "wasn't motivated." ontinued at college, edited a "little magazine" in the late '60s. I still write a lot, strictly as a hobby. I started playing fiddle 11 yrs. ago, and continue with lessons -- Irish folk, jazz. Music is my center. I also began practicing yoga in 2000, and last year went for a 200-hr. teacher training at a local studio. Presently, I also teach yoga to people 50+, at local community centers and at nursing homes. I'd love to hear from friends who were in Tilden when I was -- contact me anytime for a friendly recounting of years past and present.
