Bill's Story
Life
I am currently an associate professor of Latin American History at Loyola College of Maryland. I married late, to an academic administrator, and we have twin girls in middle school. I travel several times a year but I haven't been back to El Paso since 1970. If anyone has a class list from our reunions I'd love to see it.
Dec. 2015 When I last wrote, my daughters were in middle school—they were 12 at the 40th reunion. They are now freshman in college. One goes to Sara Lawrence in New York and is enjoying weekends in NYC, the other attends Washington College in Maryland where she plays lacrosse. I remain in Loyola University’s History Dept. where in a few years I will be the senior member which is hard for me to believe...Expand for more
. My wife is the University’s executive vice president. This past semester she was acting president while our president took a sabbatical, which kept us almost too busy to see how empty the nest has become. We bought a second house on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. It’s now a weekend and summer house but it will eventually be our retirement home. My daughters will graduate from college 50 years after we graduated from Burges. How quickly time goes.
Big changes are afoot. My wife was just named as President of Bellarmine University in Louisville Ky. We'll be leaving Baltimore for the Bluegrass state sometime this summer. I'll retire from Loyola but teach part time at Bellarmine. I'm told I'll have to acquire a taste for Bourbon.
