Life Graduated from Suitland in 1962. Joined the US NAVAL AIR RESERVE in March of 62 knowing that I would probably get drafted at some point and wanted to be in the US NAVY. Attended Prince George's Community College, until Dec.64 when ordered to active duty. Dated Mary Lou Helfrich (Surrattsville 62) from Oct.62 until marriage in JUNE 1965, and we have been together since.(GREAT Lady)Served in Intelligence working with pilots, briefing and debriefing, aboard the aircraft carrier USS FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT (CVA-42) in 65-66 returning home from Viet Nam in Jan 67. (Member of the Gulf of Tonkin Yacht Club, being the first carrier to serve their entire duration off the coast of North Viet Nam.)First child Michelle was born at Andrews AFB, MD. on 09/17/66. After returning, I worked Design Drafting at the Washington Gas Co in Georgetown, and attended Prince Georges Community College of Bus. Management. In 1969 we moved from MD.to Orlando, Fl. where I worked as a sales rep in Fl.and Ga.for a tire distributor. In 1971 I became the Gen Mgr. and stayed till 1975. Then I worked for Norton Tire out of Miami, as a commercial rep., became mgr in Winter Park, Fl and the commercial store in Orlando. In Sept 1972 our son Sean was born in Fl. I graduated from Rollins College in 1980, in Bus. Mgmt. In 1981,the stores were sold to Firestone and I went in to a partnership with a company out of Jacksonville,Fl. In 1986 I opened my own busines catering to truck, farm and heavy equipment tire users including airport and fire equipment. Then in 1992 decided to close and enter the Financial busines selling stocks, bonds and mutual funds. In 1994 my wife finished her Phd in Nursing Administration from the U. of Florida, and we moved to Pa. where she was a V.P. in Womens Services. I transferred there with American Express,and later went to work at Dean Witter and Vanguard Brokerage. In 1996 she was recruited to Duke University in Durham,NC. and we moved to Durham where I cont'd fnancial work. During the time we lived in N. Carolina, our daughter was the sales mgr for The Golf Channel in Orlando. Our son finished his Masters in Exercise Physiology, from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond where he worked for about two years as a trainer and then was recuited to a company in Menlo Park, CA. He worked there for two years and then opened his own place in Healdsburg, Ca. (Sonoma County) In 2004 tragedy struck our family when our daughter and my wife's sister were found murdered at our daughter's home in Maitland, Fl. My wife's sister and her husband were staying with our daughter in her home because of their evacuation from the Florida Keys due to a Hurricane. Upon arriving we found out that my wife's sisters husband of 18 years had murdered both of them and then hung himself in her garage. It turned into a long story after learning that Carl Brandt, Jr had also murdered his mother at a young age (13) and also shot his father 3 times, but ...Expand for more
