Bill's Story
Joined the Air Force after High School, of course the selective service helped me make up my mind. Went to San Antonio, Tx for Basic, then off to beautiful Rantoul, Ill for my tech school. I became a Airframe Mechanic, or Aircraft sheetmetal. On my dream sheet I asked to go West for my first assignment. I went so far west I ended up in Southwest Asia. "Taiwan" I was there for 2 years, with Temporary assignments to Vietnam and Thailand. When I returned, I was back in the States for 6 days before I was on a plane to Korea. I spent the last year in the USAF doing TDY's.
I've spent time in the Philippines,Japan,Guam,Korea,Vietnam,and all over Thailand.
Got out of the USAF, moved to Phx,Az. Lived there for 3 years (H...Expand for more
ated it). Move to Incline Village, Lake Tahoe. For 15 wonderful years, Then the idiot I worked for learn to play golf, Can't play in the winter up in Tahoe, so just my luck. He came down to Scottsdale Az,he loved the heat. So, he moved the company, and me (by this time I was married w/3 kids) back to Az. Been back here since 1992......Still HATE it. Kids are all grown. My 2 Girls, each have a littl girl of their own. Oldest daughter lives in Denver, middle daughter lives in Chandler Az (suburb of Phoenix). My son...Not married, he is a Assistant Manager for a grocery store. Works nights.
I am holding off retirement until age 70. Spent time off on workmens comp. bored out of my head. Gotta keep workin. 6/25/18
