Bill's Story

From there to two years teaching at UT Austin and then to the U of MD, my home for 29 (very long) years where I headed an arts management MFA program. When I retired in 2003, my partner (now husband) and I fled the hustle and bustle of the MD suburbs of Washington, DC to New Oxford, PA, a small town 9 miles east of Gettysburg. , which somewhat overlapped the first career, was owning my own company, which wrote and recorded audio description for people who are blind or have low vision. We provided services for films, videos, and multimedia products as well as tours of museums, exhibits, and National Park Service visitor centers. In addition to enjoying a great deal of vacation travel, my husband's ongoing business (a German Christmas store) provides the need for annual shopping trip to Germany. What a hardship.
