Bill's Story
Life
Following H.S. graduation I had many odd jobs (disk jockey, security guard on Chinese Ship, monkey trainer, ditch digger, etc.). At one point I supervised all parks department skilled crafts for King county. I hated it. At age 30 I learned that I wasn't marginally retarded, as I had been labeled following testing in third grade (a grade I flunked), rather, I had dyslexia. I decided to give college a try, and spent the next 6 years living in a borrowed 7 X 12 foot trailer that I usually parked where I wouldn't have to pay a fee (forest, wheat field, etc.). llege in Texas. I work from home or where ever there is an internet connection. I take summers off, do triathlons, cycling tours, anything active. Over the past few years I have placed first in the Texas State Senior Games Triathlon, and third in the National Age Group Sprint Triathlon. I compete in the World Championship Age Group Sprint Triathlon September 10, 2011 in Beijing China. I would rather be playing soccer but people in West Texas think soccer is some exotic Japanese drink. My wife, Vickie, and I lived on three acres in the "country" in a house with flushing toilets.
Now legally separated and retired. I am staying with my mom in Renton as I shop for a house, condominium, tent, or whatever I might be able to afford in the Pacific Northwest. Taking three exercise classes, playing pickle-ball, running, cycling, and looking forward to kayaking when the weather improves.
Photo is my Halloween costume 2015. I am the baby. The "mother" is on my shoulders.
