Billy's Story
Life
I have four children and 7 grandchildren. I am fully retired now after 20 years in the Air Force and a career in Aviation. Built our retirement home in Smithfield NC. A horse lives at my place as well as a stocked fish pond, ducks and a few chickens. I left North Carolina for too long while serving in the Airforce and civil aviation but I am now home to stay.
School
I was never too inspired in school but would have to say that Mr Parks was the closest Mentor to me. I to this day do not understand how I stayed in band class and never played a damn instrument? What was that all about? I did see Glenn Johnson tear up the trombone though.
College
I am a few hours shy of an associates in aerospace science. I elected to drop it and get my Airframe and power plant license to work in ci...Expand for more

Workplace
Once a mechanic, always a mechanic. I have jumped around a bit working on airplanes in the military and for Midway Airlines until 911. I did contract work for Delta, Northwest,and Comair. I am in the process of building airplanes for Honda aircraft company.
Military
I spent 20 years in the Airforce and had a very memorable association with a large group of very fine Americans. I would proudly do it again. My wife and I have had the oppurtunity to travel through out the United States and Served two tours in europe. I was fortunate enough to get assignments that alowed me to take my family. We have seen alot of beautiful euopean cities and you havent traveled until you go by train from Germany thru Switzerland into Italy. Germans do make the best wines by the way.
