Jo's Story

Life I am married to Leo Ott (38years)2000 Have 3 sons 4 grandchildren. Love golf but not really great at it but enjoy the outdoors. We live in Camarillo, Ca. I work with Leo in our Plumbing business at times but mostly I enjoy being an Executive Domestic Engineer. The boys work with their father and we all love sports. Leo and the boys play softball together and its great. We have lived in the same house for 31 years. The community has changed alot but the weather you can't beat. We live close to the beach and it is about 72 year round. Great golfing. Can't believe time is flying by so fast. Would love to hear from classmates. On Aug. 23rd 2003 I lost my best friend Leo who had a aneurysm at home. We all loved him so very much. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed his family and totally loved life itself. His 5 grandchildren miss him terribly. It is very hard after 41 years of being together. It has been 4 years now since Leo's death and it seems like yesterday. I'm still running the business with my sons. Construction is really rough now but hopefully it will pick up soon. We now have two more little girls in our family. My youngest son Billy has added the two. I'm so thankful for my grandchildren being close because it still gets so lonely at times. The business keeps me busy but I miss the conversation at night. We are working up in Paso Robles, Orcutt, Ventura, Nopomo and Simi Valley right now. My so ns Tim and Bill has been so wonderful in keeping the business going. They stepped in when Leo died and gave up so much to keep Cobra going. I'd love to hear from any of you. Will write more later. Jo Well it has been another four years since I have written. In 2010 we closed the business due to th poor economy. It was really hard but we could not find a way to keep going. I lost my father in 2008, oldest brother Ed in 09,another brother Dennis in 2010,and my mom this year. It has been trying on our family. My oldest son Tim and his daughter lives with me which is nice having someone here. Keeps me young atleast at heart We still live in Camarillo and in the same house. T im has another plumbing company going and also he air brushes. He is a great ar...Expand for more
tist. I thought about moving but just couldn't move too many memories. Leo's brother has past on but his sister Derry is still living here in Ca. I had neck surgery a year ago and I just finished gel injections in my knee. So far so good. I'm back playing golf. Im not real good but I enjoy being out on the different courses, that's when I'm not taking care of my little ones. They are such joy. Well I will try not to take years to write the next time. It has been rough for the family. Can't believe we are senior citizens now. Oh well as long as our health is good life is good. I hope all is well with all of you. Take care. Well it is 10/19/09 I turned 65 a week ago. I feel it is time to stop the stress and try to enjoy life alittle. I just want to spend more time with all my beautiful grandchildren which brings so much excitement and joy to my life. I'm so lucky. I wish you all beautiful and happy holidays. Take care. 2016 August. Well it's really been a long time. I still am in Camarillo same house but I now have my youngest son with me and most of the time his two girls. I have six grandchildren, five granddaughters and one grandson which lives in Arizona with my middle son Donny and his wife and sister. I wish they lived here. I don't get there often. I still bowl and golf and lol I'm still not very good at it. I'm not married and that's fine since I have great friends and on the go with the children. I love life and am truly happy. Life is tough at times but I'm real healthy and that's what is important at this age. I've talked to Ron Nygren and Cheri Ross quite a bit and that's been really great. Cheri keeps me informed about Sharon Hovey which is really having it rough time with her cancer. Please say a prayer for her. What a beautiful person. So very sad. Ron keeps me up on what's happening on our class. He's so funny. He took me back to when we both delivered milk to the classrooms in the third grade at Raymond school. His memory is a lot better than mine. lol. What a great friend he is to me. He was talking about reunions and said we should be having another one coming up. Anyway I hope so. All of you take care and stay healthy and safe. I hope to see you all at the reunion if we have one.
