Billy's Story
Life
Since Clifford Smith requested a bio I guess I can handle that. I worked at Lambert field after graduation (1 year), then went to school at DeVry in Chicago. Graduated in 60, then went through 3 companies (Burroughs in Philly, Vitro Labs in Silver Springs Md, Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa) before settling in Link (owned, in order, by General Precision, Singer, Bi-Coastal - a corporate raider, CAE-Toronto, Hughes, and finally, Raytheon). craft Center). Half the time I worked the miliary side, and the other half NASA (Apollo, Skylab, Shuttle). I started as a tech writer, wound up doing database work. I even served a sentence as a manager.
Along the way I picked up a family; the moving around is evident in the fact that my wife, two sons, and daughter were all born in a different state. We finally settled down with my 3rd permanent transfer (back to Houston) where we've been for 28 years.
I semi-retired a year ago April, but still do the database stuff with my own business.
