Blanca's Story
Hello everyone, class of 76, well I was suppose to graduate in 77 but I graduated A year early and had plenty of credits, And well I worked for a few banks, got married in 83, and had 4 children; two boys and two girls, 24, 19, 14, 7. I have one grand-daughter age 1, She looks just like my son. I've been married for 25 years now. In 1990 I was in a RV propane explosion with my two older boys, my mother-in-law, and myself. We all were severely burned, luckily we all survived, thanks to God, to the help of my husband, and people around that helped get us out of the RV. It happened during a vacation we took to La Paz B.C . We were flown to San Diego University Hospital and were in the hospital for three months with 75 percent of my body burned, almost lost both of my hands but with the good care ...Expand for more
in the hospital and all the skin grafts done my hands were okay but still lost one pinkie finger and many tendons, my face was reconstructed along with my nose. I had to wear a face mask for a full year but like I said thanks to God we are still alive. My boys are fine and so am I. It was one of the hardest years for my entire family. Thanks to everyone that was there for us at the time in need and sorrow; my husband, my family, my brother, and sisters, the doctor & nurses. I love you all for saving not only my life but the life's of the ones most precious to me,my kids. Right now i am on ssi and trying to make it. Its hard but God is with us. Well now i have moved back to Lincoln Hgts i been here since 2-14-09 and it been all right its hard to adjust once again but we are hanging in there.
