Bob's Story

November 2015 My Mom passed away on July 15. My wife and I were at her side when she passed at the Hospice. She just kinda took one last deep breath, exhaled, and she was gone. I wear her wedding band on a chain around my neck as a constant reminder of her. some days, it's hard to believe she is gone. The Memorial Service at the Unitarian Fellowship in Mohegan Lake was very well attended. We will inter her ashes there in the Memorial Garden, next to her Husband May 2015 Back in March, my Mom and younger brother moved from Somers up to Merrimack, NH. That puts them less than 30 minutes from me. My Mom, now 89, is having mobility issues, and has suffered nerve damage to her face. She can no longer talk, and eats only pureed foods. She is also pretty much confined to a wheelchair. Her mind is still sharp, and she writes when an expression or gesture is not enough. I try to visit at least once a week. All of her sons plus my daughter joined her for a Mother's Day brunch. My daughter Beverly graduated from RPI in Troy, NY in 2010 and has been working at NYSERDA in Albany. She and her fiance Sam recently bought a 34 foot O'Day sailboat, and are departing shortly for a year long sailing adventure called The Loop of America. They will both be working remotely part time from the boat. My two oldest grandkids are graduating from High School in June. Danny is planning to enlist in the Marines, and they want to put him in Officers Training. LeeAnne will be sticking closer to home, attending Nashua Community College for General Studies, then transitioning to a 4 year college for CSI studies. hamp on my 1976 Yamaha TY175 motorcycle, and I am off to a promising start to 3 peat. I recently acquired a 1974 Yamaha SC500 so I could race additional motocross and Cross Country classes, and DNF'd at my first race after losing the spark. I fixed it, hopefully, and will race it again soon. 59 and no sign of growing up yet! It's now January '09. Most of my bikes are put away, 'cept for my BMW sidecar rig, which I take to work if the roads are clear, and my Husaberg(pictured above) with the spiked tires for ice racing. My snowboard is freshly tuned and ready to go. Went boarding with my daughter last weekend before she leaves for a her spring junior semester on a ship going around the world. She is taking time off from studies at RPI to do this. My wife is a Business Development Manager for a C+D (construction and demolition) waste recycler. It's a startup operation, and she has been steadily growing the business. My 4 grandchildren(!) from my 3 stepchildren are now 12, 11, 7, and 6. I maintain a small fleet of minibikes and 4 wheelers to keep them entertained. I live in southern NH and work over the border in MA as a Technical Analyst supporting a corporate facility, but that just pays the bills and for my toys, most of which have wheels and a motor. I also race kayaks once in a while, and mountainbike the railtrails with my wife and grandkids. My dad passed away in 1998 at 80, and my mom, now 83, just moved to Heritage Hills in Somers after 52 years in Mudpac. She still drives herself around, plays tennis, and takes the train with friends to NYC for concerts. My Yah00 is Husabob. Peace, Bob B
