Bob Carlson:  

In school I was known as Robert Carlson. When I went away for the summer, then to college, I became Bob. Now the only one who would ever call me Robert is my wife, and that when I am in trouble. I met my wife, Susan, while attending college in Ohio in 1970. She grew up on a farm in Ohio. We were married in Columbus October 7, 1972. We have two sons, 30 and 33 years old. And three grandsons, 5, 3, and 21 months, with another grandchild coming in September. A graduate of Asbury University (Wilmore, KY), I have served as a pastor in NY, OH and FL. We moved to Port Charlotte, FL, which is between Sarasota and Fort Myers, in 1991. For 14 years I served as the chaplain and patient advocate at Fawcett Memorial Hospital. For the last six years, I have served on the staff of First United Methodist Church of Punta Gorda. Our attendance is as low as 500 in the summer and as high as 1500 in the winter.
