SLHS to US Navy in 1957. I grew up in Saranac Lake, New York, a friendly, clean, safe community. I loved being surrounded by the natural beauty of the Adirondack lakes and mountains. Saranac Lake is a wonderful place to grow-up, receive an education, work, and raise a family. All our neighbors took pride in the care of their property. Saranac Lake has a strong level of community pride and that makes Saranac Lake an enjoyable place to live and a memorable place to visit. Once a year my family and I return to enjoy renewing childhood friendships and meeting their children. NAVAL CAREER I served in the US Navy on the Staff of Commander Carrier Division Two. During the Berlin Wall crisis we (CCD-2) commanded NATO exercises with up to 40 ships in the Atlantic Ocean. While in the Mediterranean Sea we monitored Russian trawlers loaded with electronic warfare equipment which jammed military communications. I was very lucky to have such choice duty in the Navy.
