Bob's Story
I'm living in Olympic Valley (Squaw Valley), California. I also have a house in Sparks, NV. I'm in a relationship. I have one daughter, Leslie, and 3 grandkids, Hannah(18), Jake(11), and Noah(7). Hannah is a freshman at the Univ. of New Mexico.
I attended Roosevelt High School, Nathan Eckstein Middle School, and Ravenna Elementary School. I attended the University of Washington (Aeronautics and Astronautics) from 1965 to 1973 getting BSAA (1969) and MSAA (1970) degrees and doing work towards a PhD in Appled Mathematics and Computer Science.
I worked for Boeing Co as a student engineer on the 747 airplane, Voyager, and several other proposals/projects, and as a degreed engineer on early research and development of GPS technology. Later, when my interests migrated to computer software, I worked for John Fluke Mfg. Co on the microcomputer-based 8500 multimeter. Co-founded and was President of Anthrometrics, a medical instrument company.
I moved to California in 1980. Worked for Digital Research Inc., makers of CP/M, and Borland Intl, (Reflex and...Expand for more
Quattro Pro) as well as several start-ups. I also worked as a consultant, doing operating systems software, for other major computer companies such as Osborne Computers, Texas Instruments, DEC and Microsoft (Windows 95 disk compression).
I am currently retired and work as an investor and sports handicapper. I am on Las Vegas radio occasionally speaking about sports betting.
My interests include skiing, hiking, running, and golf. Was a member of the National Ski Patrol System, ski patrolled for 15 years at Hyak on Snoqualmie Pass. I've run around 35 marathons, including Seattle, San Francisco, Big Sur, Napa, Santa Cruz and the 50K PCT Ultra marathon.. One of my outdoor exploits is power hiking from Stevens Pass to Snoqualmie Pass (roughly 70 miles, mostly along the PCT) in under 24 hours. I also skied and climbed the famous Haute Route in the Alps, Chamonix, France to Zermatt /Saas Fee, Switzerland.
TV shows I like include Big Bang Theory, Monk, Rockford Files, Law and Order, and Games of Thrones.
