My Father, for those interested from Union HS class of 53: Classmates is something I'm sure my father would have done to reconnect with old friends, so thought I'd do it for him for those who knew him and might be interested. He had passed away from Pancreatic cancer in July 2003, shortly before the 50th HS reunion (he had planned on and was really looking forward to attending). After graduation he joined the army as an officer. He married Patricia Gibney in Sept of 1959 in a military wedding, and had two children - Bobby (me) in 1960, and Michael in 1963. He left the Army as a LT (sorry cant spell) and started work for Sears, where he eventually became a Store Manager for Sears Business Systems, retiring in the mid 1980's. He/we lived for a while in Union NJ, in an apt on Burroughs Terrace and in ~1966 moved to Spring St near the Washington school. In 1968 we moved to Ramondo Lane in Smithtown Long Island NY until 1981, when he bought a beautiful place on MacCubin Vally Trail in Ellicott City Maryland. My mother lived in and maintained that home until late 2010, finally opting for a really nice adult community. Those who knew him would know of his remarkably kind and sensitive nature, athleticism (though modest about it), sense of professionalism and hard work, and his incredible sense of humor and love of music. This didn't change throughout all his years. I was truly blessed to have him (and my mother, an amazing lady) as parents - they did it right. Besides music/singing, Dad always loved the water - swimming, fishing, boating (had a boat from 1969 to around 1980), and in later years enjoyed sailing and sailing vacations. A modest lifestyle and good choices enabled him to travel quite a bit in later years, really enjoying the Carribean, Hawaii, and Europe. Saw some incredible pics of the Lauderbrunnen (SP?)
