PERSONAL AFTER HIGH SCHOOL
I left my senior year early for the Navy. Spent a couple of months in Chicago, then several months in Memphis, Tennessee. Went to San Diego for advanced electronics and aircrew training, and was then assigned to an active squadron. Deployed to Viet Nam on the aircraft carrier Ticonderoga in Late 1965. I was also able to spend time in Japan, China and the Philippines.
Graduated military service a little before my 21st birthday. Continued college at Fairleigh Dickinson University but transferred back to college in San Diego ending up at U.C. Berkeley. Married an old girl friend and got divorced in a year. I was planning to be a mechanical engineer but was recruited by a regional mall, real estate developer.
Worked commercial real estate for a few years then started my own land development company, married and started a family. From land development, I graduated to real estate development creating first custom homes then commercial properties then industrial and research and development properties. Most of my work was in the Sacramento area but also had a restaurant and music store in South Lake Tahoe.
Married for the third time in 1981 inheriting three great kids. Phased out of personal projects and went with the Boeing company as a facilities manager and developer. Completed the McClellan Air Force Base conversion to a civilian industrial and business park. Next assignment was the National Missile Defense Facility at Fort Greeley, Alaska. Wife Gayle wasnÂt excited about Alaska so I got a job with the Santa Clara Valley Water District in San Jose California. So here I am in the beautiful San Francisco, Bay Area. Bob at RTJackson.
