Bob's Story
Hard to believe its will be 40 years since I graduated from MHS. I often wonder about my friends from High School and where they are now and what their life's jouney has been like. I hope to hear from some of you. Here is what I have been up too since 1969.
I went to Bentley College and received both my BS and MS in Accounting and Finance. I played four years of baseball for the college. Met a girl from Waltham and was married in 1976 (I think). We divorced in 1984 and we did not have kids.
I am have been married to my wife Juli for 19 years and we live in Portsmouth, NH (less than a mile from the Wentworth and the beach which is nice). We have a teenage daughter Morgan who is 18 and son Michael who is 17. I waited five years before I married again so you can see I was about 40 when we had our kids - we went back to back because of our age.
My daughter graduates from Portsmouth High School this year and she doesn't want to go to college right now. That's been a disappointment to us be we are tired of fighting her. Our hope is once she gets into the "real world" she will quickly find out the value of an education and return to school. Our son is three sport athelte at the PHS and he has some talent in ...Expand for more
baseball. He is being recruited by some top notch baseball programs such as North Carolina, Clemson, Duke, Penn State etc. He was just selected by Major League Baseball and USA baseball as one of the 144 to tryout for the Jr. Olympic team this summer.
My wife has worked for the Department of Defense for 30 plus years and I am a self employed business advisor. After graduate school I moved to Durham, NH and taught business at UNH and was an assitant baseball coach. I then started my own CPA firm and sold it some years later.
I went to work for a national consulting firm and was lucky to work in Europe, Canada and most of the major cities in the US. After we had kids I couldn't travel like I did so I started doing consulting on my own and have been doing so for years.
I retired for two years when I was 50 and got my golf handicap down to 3 but I quickly got bored and went back into consulting. I will never retire again if I am physically and mentally able to work.
My health has been good (fingers crossed), close to my college baseball playing weight and I still have my hair.
Can't ask for more than a great family, my health, not too fat and a head of hair.
Let me know what you are doing.
