Robert's Story
1) In Junior High, got hooked on computer
programming. Started by being allowed to use the
school district's IBM-1401 computer after school was
over(even through High School). Also was involved
with the Chess Club.
2) In High School, you'd probably see me wondering the
halls at times with a rotary dial phone with a long
extension cord attached to it -- used the dial-up
computer system that we had access to, along side
of the IBM machine. Still kept with the Chess Club.
3) In College, hung around with Mike Carey, Clem Cole,
and Glenn...Expand for more
Linderman primarily, due to involvement
in Digital Design classes. Had taken classes from
Dan ("Steely Dan") Siewiorek, Don Thomas, among
others. Really enjoyed digital/computer design,
along with programming.
Right now, main hobbies are ham radio and restoring &
playing pinball machines (EMs - Electro-Mechanical, SS -
Solid-State with Alpha-Numeric/Numeric displays, and
DMDs - Dot Matrix Displays).
I've also started to use a Celestron NexStar-8E Schmidt-Cassagrain Telescope and will be trying my hand at doing astrophotography in the upcoming months.
