Bob's Story
I have been living in Ironwood for almost 25 years. I have a great job with the Michigan Department of Human Services as a Program Manager responsible for a unit that takes care of children in Foster Care and the Child Protective Services area. Making sure children are safe and cared for is a huge responsiblity that I take great pride in doing.
I've been married to a great lady for 12 years and enjoy traveling with her! In my spare time I hunt, fish, and camp. I also enjoy attending sporting events, especially Wisconsin Badger Football and Packer games.
I am also very fortunate to be an assistant coach for the Varsity team at Hurley HS. I get the opportunity to give back to the kids of the community and build relationships that last long after the guys finish playing. We've been...Expand for more
pretty successful and have made the playoffs for 16 straight years. I often refer back to the lessons I learned from Coach Koski and Coach Antila when working with my team. I really wish I could talk X's and O's with Coach Koski one more time!
I miss what we once had in White Pine and miss the fact that our parents had to leave for greener pastures after the mine closed. I miss driving through town and knowing that every car you passed waved at you! I miss going to the gym for a packed house at basketball games and band concerts. I've made a lot of friends on on the Gogebic Range and all of them tell me what a great place we had for sporting events. Coaches, players, and officials all say that they were always treated with class when they came into "our house."
