Bob's Story

Bob's schools include Brighton High School.. Project Management school through Pace University plus many technical classes with IBM and AT&T. After Graduation met my wife to be (she is class of 67). Drafted in to the Army December of 64, Basic at Ft Bliss Texas, AIT at Fort Ord California (Infantry/Mortars). Formed up with unite at Ft Bening Georgia, Jungle training Camp Shelby Mississippi.. Shipped to Vietnam October 1966 via troop transport ship. Infantry squad leader 199th light infantry brigade (air mobile) mainly worked the Mekong Delta, North, South East and West of Saigon looking for trouble. Rotated back to the world 11/1967. Hired on with IBM (Boulder) 12/1967 and after 14 days...Expand for more
out of Vietnam and the service I was not really ready (mentally) to get back into the real world, wasted a lot of time self medicating (like 3 years). Married in 1967, 2 sons, 8 grand children. Retired from IBM 1999 after 31 1/2 years as an IT project manager, went to work for AT&T the next day and retired 2005. Drove an 18 wheeler delivering news papers from the presses to the distribution centers for a year, Now working with my brother in his Veterinary Hospital in Evergreen Colorado 1 day a week doing phones, computers, HVAC and building maintenance. One of Bob's favorite quotes is:""The problem with Liberals is sooner or later you run out of other peoples money." Margaret Thatcher".
