Bob's Story
If you knew me in high school I dated Joyce Bates. Well, she was so great that I married her two years after we graduated and she is still the love of my life. Joyce and I tried to move away from Leavenworth but something always kept us here. Joyce is now the national budget analysis for CMOP and I retired from the Bureau of Prisons as a general foreman in 2001. We have two children who are of course have children of their own. Our son lives in So. Johnson County and works for Titliest Golf. His wife is a vice-president of a world wide health organization. They have two beautiful little children. He and his wife are both graduates of KU. -ROCK CHALK! BB Champs 2008. Our daughter is single again and has two exceptionally fine athletic boys. She is the Economic Development Specialist for Leavenworth and graduated from Upper Iowa with a 4.0 and is working on her masters from Webster U. She was the Leavenworth County Business woman of the year when she was 26 and was the youngest person to be President of the Leavenworth Chamber of Co...Expand for more
mmerce. She just took third place is the national Crossfit tournament in Omaha.
That is kind of my life in a nutshell.
I still like to play golf, bowl occasionally, hunt (archery mostly), shoot (firearms or bows), and fish. I made the mistake of teaching my son how to play golf and he turned it into a career. He was a political analysist in D.C. but he went from there to golf (?). His wife worked for the Republican Party and became the Campaign Manager for Sen. Brownback and so they moved back to Kansas. (Yeah!!)
I spend a lot time reading and I am very interested in the history of Ireland though my family heritage is Welsh, Scotch, and Dutch. I love the Celtic culture and their music but haven't graduated to wearing a kilt, yet. - LOL - I might someday but there are too many nosey women around here. They say, "Good girls don't ask and bad girls find out for themselves." I am not ready to test that theory.
There you have it. If you think my life is boring then I only have to ask, "Why did you spend all that reading about it?"
