Bob's Story
Life
Three months after graduating high school I enlisted in the U.S. Navy and trained as a Hospital Corpsman. The military would not let me list my step-father on my life insurance, saying I had to put my natural father, so, the first time I came home on leave I went to court with my step-father and went through the adoption process. This is why my last name changed from Brock to Fryman. I was released from active duty in May 1971 and received my Honorable Discharge in Sept. 1973. After being released from active duty I went to school for a year and then moved to California for two years. I moved back to Decatur, went to paramedic school and worked for Decatur Ambulance Service until I moved to SW Missouri in Dec. 1980. While working as a paramedic in Decatur I started missing flying so I enlisted in the U.S. Army Air National Guard and flew as a flight medic until I received an Honorable Discharge in April 1977.
After moving to Missouri I was self-employed until 1989. I sold everything, obtained my EMT license so I could work for our local ambulance service, and then went to the Law Enforcement Academy, received my Peace Officers Certification and went to work part-time for the Sheriff's Dept. in 1990.

92 I returned to school and got my paramedic's license back.
In 1994, I switched my jobs and started working part-time for the ambulance service and full-time for the Sheriff's Dept. In 1996, an injury to my left knee forced me to give up working as a paramedic.
In 1999, I requested and was assigned to our multi-county drug task force as an undercover narcotics officer.
In 2002 I left undercover work (long enough) and went to work for the Fordland Police Dept. where I finished my career as a Detective Sgt and Training Officer in 2006.
An injury to my right knee that resulted in my having a total knee replacement in April of this year (2006) resulted in my having to take early retirement.
Now, I spend time in my wood shop building small and medium size items, and doing volunteer work with the youth in our area.
The most important part of my life is in 1986, I accepted Christ into my life, was baptized, and became a member of Mission Home Baptist Church here in Marshfield, Mo. where I still live today.
On May 7, 2011, my first high school sweetheart, Vicki Good and I were married. We are staying in Sullivan, Ill. until she retires in 2013 and going home to Marshfield each month for a 3-4 day weekend getaway.
