Bob's Story
I've had an interesting life. Almost got killed in a freak lightning storm and blizzard on Mt. Evans in 1967, experienced rocket attacks in Vietnam, crashed a 911 Porsche at 115 mph, got my head smashed by a jealous boyfriend of a girl I was dating, flew in a F-106 jet at Mach 2, met a soulmate (Carol Dunavant) on a blind date set up by John Groomes and his girlfriend and later wife, Susie, and asked her to marry me on the third date (we're still together after 48 years), etc. I've pursued many different interests (geology, gymnastics, architecture, art, skiing, mountain climbing, ballroom dancing, etc), but searching for the m...Expand for more
eaning of life and answers to various existential questions was a major one. Found the answer to my final question on Aug 18, 1999 and then wrote a philosophical/spiritual autobiography (Pouring Concrete--A Zen Path to the Kingdom of God) recently re-published in an expanded edition by the TAT Foundation. Wrote a book for Christians (A Path to Christ Consciousness), operated a construction company for 40 years, and have kept up with many Hillsboro High classmates. Based on various questionnaires we sent out in the past, and conversations at past reunions, the class of 1961 was a fascinating group of people, to say the least!
