Bobbi's Story
Life
I grew up in Independence, Missouri. I had a great childhood with my best memories being of vacations with my family and playing outside with the other kids in the neighborhood. During high school I had a good time. I had a great set of friends. I went to Northeast Missouri State University for college. I studied biology there (a worthless major). For those who have not been, Kirksville has a lot to offer including a super Wal-mart. I entered medical school in Columbia, MO. If there is a time in my life I would love to live over it is medical school. I had a great group of friends and awesome roommates. I don't remember any bad times. I was able to visit California, Arizona, and the Bahamas in an effort to "broaden my education." Columbia, MO is the place where I met my husband. I really had the time of my life in medical school. After I graduated I came to Houston, TX--yes one of the most polluted cities. It is flat and devoid of trees. However, it does contain a huge medical center that is not on the east coast and provides thousands of patients for me to evaluate. I have completed my training in Pediatrics, Pediatric Neurology, and Pediatric Sleep Medicine. I am now practicing at Baylor Co...Expand for more

Workplace
I am currently employed by Baylor College of Medicine as a Pediatric Neurologist and Sleep Medicine Specialist. I am the doctor who takes care of children with seizures and developmental problems as well as any sleep issues. Anyone who has children knows the type of things that I take care of. I very much enjoy my job.
The weirdest job I've ever had was working at the Sprint building in KC as an operator for the deaf. Prior to having this job, I did not know such a position existed, but it was really interesting and I certainly learned a lot about the deaf community. The worst job I ever worked at was as a waitress at the Pizza Hut in Kirksville, MO. The community weren't big tippers and I had to draw the line when they wanted me to clean the bathrooms (it is a personal issue I have.)
If I could do something in my life over I would take the entire four years instead of 3 years to graduate from college. I think I probably missed out on a lot of fun by going through that part of my life too fast. My goal for my life going forward is to try to travel. I haven't had an opportunity to see very much of the world up until this point and I hope to start making that a priority.
