Bobbie's Story

Life I keep looking back on life wondering where the time has gone. I started out in the snow country of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and somehow ended up in Washington and then California. I attended Andrew Hill High School in San Jose, California for three years and then we moved to Campbell. I graduated from Campbell High School in 1968. After two years at San Jose City College I transferred to California State University, Fresno, (Fresno State), where I obtained my teaching credential. I was a substitute teacher in the Fresno Unified School District while my son was little, as well as coaching volleyball and track and field at McLane High School. My first two years of full time teaching was at Caruthers High School. Besides teaching, I was also the Volleyball, Basketball and Track coach, and the Cheer and Pep Adviser as well as a Class Adviser. From 1980 until 2010 I was a Biology and Health teacher at Clovis High School. I also coached Volleyball and Track. I also was the Co-Adviser for Science Fair, a Class Adviser for 16 years, Photographer for the Yearbook and was the Video Club Adviser. I videotaped and put together the annual Clovis High Football Highlight Video and the Senior Video each year. After I retired as a volleyball coached I became the official scorekeeper for Clovis High. When I retired for coaching track and field I went on the get my n...Expand for more
ational rating as a Track and Field Official. I work high school meets, including the California State Track and Field Championships, as well as officiate at the Fresno State Meets and some National Meets. I took the Golden Handshake from Clovis Unified School District and retired as a full time teacher in June of 2010. I currently work part-time which allows me to do some traveling. My husbands name is Pat and we have been married since 1974. Pat currently works in real estate. My son Patrick graduated from Clovis High School and then graduated with a business degree from California State University at Fresno. He also has a masters degree in business. While in college he went through the ROTC program. He is a Major in the United States Air Force. Patrick is married to Alexis Andrews, also a teacher. I became a grandmother for the first time on July 14, 2008. My grandsons name is Andrew Patrick Bass. I will be a grandmother for the second time this April. My daughter, Tracy, also graduated from Clovis High School and from California State University at Fresno with a degree in education. She also finished a masters degree in education administration. While at Central High School she was an English teacher and volleyball coach and then became Vice Principal. This fall she took on new administration duties at a high school in Napa Valley and really enjoys it.
