Bobby's Story
Life
Well, after high school I continued working in the broadcasting field for many years. I also done the occasional gig DJing in night clubs and at private parties too, in addition to working as a DJ in radio..... The market really started to fall out of the radio broadcasting field though in the late 90's so I choose, for multiple reasons, to get out while I still could.
I did marry in 1994 but it was a short marriage that ended in early 1996. I have no children and honestly don't want any. Since high school and in addition to my failed marriage I have had several relationship experiences. I am currently in a long term relationship now, that seems to be going really well.
In 2003 I decided to go back to school and switch fields... My major is Psychology.... I want to go into the substance abuse field and work with drug addicts in active addiction... As a result of some of my own medical problems, I found myself addict...Expand for more
ed to prescription pain killers. In February of 2003 I checked myself into a 28 day treatment facility and upon completion of their program, I entered into a long term (pushing a year) residential substance abuse program. I have been drug free since February 9, 2003 and I am very proud of my accomplishment in this!
My recovery from the prescription pain killers that I was on has really brought a great deal of freedom to my life. However, I am not ashamed of my past. I am the sum of my life experiences! Were in not for those years I spent addicted to drugs, I would not be the person I am today. I have gotten in touch, thru my program of recovery that I work, with a much deeper side of myself.
Today I am a very honest, sincere, humble, and caring person. Prior to entering recovery; I was the total opposite! As a result, I really like who I am today, and I take my recovery very seriously! It's a very large part of my life.
