Bobby's Story
Hello
I atarted to school 1947 in Haskell, Tx. We moved to Brownfield mid-term 1950. We moved mid-term 1956 to Midland.
àWe moved from Midland about two weeks after I started Midland High to Cleburne. That didn't work out for Dad and we moved back to Odessa at mid-term. I didn't ÂÃÂt do very good that year and started the next year and was working before and after schoo in a produce department at Food Mart. I quit school I worked in the oil field. I then joined the Navy December 1958, did well getting rank and a GED, out June 1962.
ÃÂ I went back to Odessa and worked in the oil field till early 1963, then went to Dallas area and went to work at GM in Arlington till 1975. While there I started to college several times and finally received an AA degree at Tarrant County Junior College. I went to UTA about a year and did not finish.
ÃÂ I always worked nights at GM and did other work days, mechanic, carpenter, house painter...Expand for more
and started a urethane insulation company. I quit GM 1975 and with the insulation I started Vans Unique in Grand Prairie.ÃÂ 1980 with a gas shortage and 21% interest I got out of the van conversions. I then bought a True Value/Radio Shack store in Lockhart. I ran it for 15 years then sold it. Since then among other things I have been working as an Independent Insurance Adjuster.
I married a girl in California while in the Navy, didnt work. I married again about the time I went to work at GM and we have a girl, Shelley and a son, Greg. Donna, their mother and I got a divorce 1987. I then remarried the girl from California, didn'ÃÂÃÂt work. In 1994 ÃÂ I married Barbara that lives in Lytton Springs, Dale Post Office, about 15 miles south of Austin Bergstrom Airport.
ÃÂ Mother passed away in 2005 and Dad had AlzheimerÂs, we moved to Haskell and I took care of him, he was 98.5 when he passed away in 2011. We are in Lytton Springs now.
