Bobby's Story
Wow........ where do you start, when it comes to telling what has happened in the last 30 years. I guess my story really begins 7 years ago when my wife and I bought a small metal shop in Oak Ridge. The name of the company is D & I Enterprises and does mostly close tolerance metal work, aluminum and stainless for the government and other homeland securities type companies. I found out late in life the building a business from someone else's start was not an easy thing to do. But after 7 years, we have been very lucky and God has watched over us very closely. 2 years ago we bought the old store building in Clinton and have spent a fortune trying to renovate it. I think it will be good for Clinton and extremely different. I will try to post some pictures of the concept drawings so people can see what I have in mind. I plan on relocating our metal shop to Clinton in the Carden Farm Industrial Park, where we have bought 7 acres to build, again the economy has a lot to do with this move. e the 3rd, but we call him Lee. He graduated from UT in May of 2006 and works with us building the company and overseeing the construction of the store renovation. I love corvettes, so I have a 96 model and a 74 that I am restoring, which will probably take forever. I feel like I have been very lucky in life and have definitely had my ups and downs. I realize at this stage of my life that mom and dad raising 5 kids and hoping and praying for them to do well was a full time job that never ends. I am very proud of Lee, he received his Eagle from the Boy Scouts and finished his degree. So I feel it is my time to accomplish what I want to accomplish in life. I would love to hear from fellow Clinton graduates and welcome you coming by the shop and seeing me. I keep in contact with alot of the 1970 class and actually keep the addresses and emails of most of the people of that class. I will post some pictures later on for those who are interested in some of the changes in Clinton and especially the renovation project............
