Bobby's Story
Although we moved away from Portola just before the start of our freshman year, I've always considered myself a part of the Portola class of 89. Everyone from Portola that remembers me will know me as Bobby Dunham, but not long after moving away I changed my last name to Magee, my family name.
I moved to Stockton, CA in 1989 and have lived here ever since. In 2000 I finished my 2nd degree from the University of the Pacific, graduating with my MBA. In my professional career I've either owned or been a part of 4 different startup companies. Later, I worked for Barclays Global Investors, and Investors Bank and Trust as a Mutual Fund Analyst. It didn't take long for me to realize that the extremely long hours, intense pressure, and lack of a social life just wasn't for me. I started working for San Joaquin County in 2002, and for the past several years I've worked as a Deputy County Admin...Expand for more
istrator. Perhaps one day one of my entrepreneurial efforts will hit big, but for the meantime my goal is to make County Administrator someday.
I've always been a bit of a non-traditional rebel...my daughter Maisie (It's a traditional Irish name) was born in 2006, and I'm finally planning on settling down into the married life with Brenda on July 4, 2009. Yep, it really is a 4th of July wedding.
Personal interests these days include a ridiculous love of baseball, winemaking, beer making, and of course lawnmowing (the national pasttime).
A final note to any really bored people that have made it this far...if you know how to get a hold of Jason Waterhouse, AKA Jason Hill, please let me know. He and I were best friends even after I moved away, but we lost track of each other after he joined the Air Force. I've been trying to track that guy down for years. Thanks for reading about me!
