Bobby's Story
Life
Currently I live in Huntington Beach with my wife, 2dogs, 2 fish, and 1 bird. Unfortunately just a few blocks from Edison! I am watching my niece and nephew go through FVHS right now.
School
I absolutely loved high school. Anyone who was on the badminton team please drop me a line. I have a great opportunity to experience FVHS through my niece and nephew. She is a senior and in band and he is on the surf team. Walking through campus is strange. All the lockers are gone which was huge in our day. It was all about the territory and the clicks. I was in the "Rocker Locker" section with all the other long haired guys and spandex wearing gals(didn't the guys wear spandex too?!). I pass the school just about every day and think about all the people that were in my class and wonder what they are doing now.
College
After high school I went to Golden West JC to "find a direction." I found it in speech communication. I transfered to Cal State Long Beach and Graduated with a B.A. in Speech Communication: Interpersonnal and Organizational Communication. At the same time I was enrolled at Long Beach I persued my passion, music, at L.A. Harbour College. 26 units at two schools, what the hell was I thinking! I then attended the Los Angel...Expand for more
es Music Academy and recieved a certificate of performancve in Drums and Precussion. I am returning to music school to hopefully get another degree.
Workplace
I have come a long way since my first job at Malibu Grand Prix at the corner of Warner and Magnolia. I currently have my contractors license and run my own masonry/concrete home improvement business called Creative Concrete and Masonry. It is all about home improvment. I'm working on my teaching credential for the Masonry Institute to teach ROP construction courses. I also own another business as a freelance musician during the evenings. I teach, lecture, perform live, record. I currently teach 20 or so students at Squid Music up in Stanton CA. I have been lucky enough to work with some of the very musicians we listened to growing up. I have worked several times with John Avila bass player for Oingo Boingo (Remember that great concert we won!) and shared the stage with bands like Cheap Trick, Fleetwood Mac, Pat Benatar, among many others. I have had music on the radio as well as TV. One of my current projects, 3rd Degree, is a Chicago style blues band playing all around CA.
Military
I have never served. The people that serve our country are heroes and deserve to be treated as such.
