Bonita's Story
After I graduated from West Division High School in January 1969, I entered the U.S. Air Force as a Civil Engineer. After basic training, I met and married my husband, Frank McNamara, while stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I left the Air Force in October 1970 and pursued a Bachelor Degree in Biology from Ramapo College of New Jersey. I also had two children, Frank Jr. and Rebecca. ned at Macdill Air Force Base in Tampa Florida, Offut Air Force Base in Omaha Nebraska and Greenham Common RAF in Newbury, England. While I was stationed in Omaha, Nebraska, I got my Masters Degree in Meterology. I retired medically from the Air Force in September 1989 due to a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. Ended up staying in England until August 2008 because my husband was a Department of Defense Teacher at RAF Lakenheath, England. I now live retired in the panhandle of Florida in Niceville .
