Bonnie's Story
I went to school for way too long (too much education, for sure) and then enjoyed (and am still enjoying) a wonderful career (IBM mostly and now my own little company). With IBM I worked all over the world, lived in the USA, Brussels, Copenhagen, Berlin, and other places. I work all over the world with my company, too. I live in the Tampa Bay area. I also write a magazine column and speak at technical conferences. You can Google "Bonnie Baker DB2" if you are bored and have nothing else to do.
I have three children (Jackie, Scott, and Beth), and a new husband. Jim is a retired airline pilot (747s for Northwest Airlines). Jim has given me EIGHT more (adult) children and 25 more grandchildren! I read too much, and I love gardening (a great escape from computers). My daughter, Jackie, works for t...Expand for more
he University of Texas Credit Union in Austin. My son, Scott, is a City of Tampa homicide detective (was a K-9 officer and a regular detective before that). He crushes crime and helps keep us all safe. He and his wife, Teri (an RN who is a stay-at-home mom), have given me three wonderful grandsons (Henry, 11; Nicholas, 9; and Lincoln, 4). I have had (and still have) great sorrow. I lost my beautiful daughter, Beth, in a car accident when she was 19. An 83 year old man ran a red light at 10AM. Message: give up your keys when you should no longer drive. I somehow survived that. I still do not know how.
I recently moved from Tampa to a small cottage in St Pete (and I love it). I divide my time among work, family, gardening, and hanging out at my other home, a beach cottage on Anna Maria Island.
