Bonnie's Story
Not much to tell. I never married nor had kids. The only kids I ever had were of the 4-legged variety. I still live in Mt. Washington in the same house I grew up in. My Mom, dogs and I share our house after having lost my Dad in 2002.
After graduating SHHS, I went to work. My first job was with Kaufmann's, where I performed a variety of duties in various departments. Not wanting to make a career out of that job, I joined and left a couple of companies until finally deciding to go back to school.
1976 was a big year for me. I landed a job with a local reputable office furniture company and entered CCAC studying to persue a degree in Accounting with the hopes of continuing onto a Bachelor's degree and eventually obtain a CPA and start my own company. It was quite a challenge working a full time job and going to school a few nights a week. With the help of my employer who helped with tuition, I was able to finish my Associates degree.

of a challenge. My employer decided not to help me further my education to a Bachelor's degree and the assistance of outside sources not being very plentiful, tuition being a little more that I could handle at the time, I had to put my aspirations on hold until I could figure out another plan. The problem, once you get out of the swing, it's hard to get back in again.
In 1988 the owners of the office furniture company I worked for decided to retire so they sold the business to the sales manager. I continued on with the new owners until 1993 when I left to go to work for the Juvenile Probation department of Allegheny. What an experience and education I got there.
I worked for the County for exactly 1 year and left to join another very reputable office furniture company here in the city. Some 15 years later I am still with them.
My current aspiration is Retirement. I am so looking forward to the day when I can call it quits and hang up my work hat. I think the break is long overdue.
