Bonnie's Story
I came to La Porte my Senior Year, from Brazosport Senoir HIgh, but was amazed how quickly I found new friends.
I play the piano, so I joined the choir and Stage Band, both directed by Henry Einfieldt. My favorite thing, besides the football games, was the highschool musical! I danced in "Once Upon a Mattress", and had a ball!
After graduating in May of 1965, I earned a music schlarship to San Jacinto College, where I majored in piano. From there, I attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX, but ended up graduating from SFASU, with a B.S. in Education/Music.
Since then, I have taught Elementary Music, private piano, and keyboard classes. I have been the accompanist for La Porte ...Expand for more
Senoir High choir, and Robert E. Lee choir, and played for many UIL competions. I am also a church organist/pianist, and was lucky enough to marry a choir director, who used to direct band.
I still teach piano in La Porte, and recently attended a La Porte Highschool reunion for the class of 1965. I did not think anyone would remember me, but Diane Campbell signed me in, and said "Ofcourse I remember you, my picture is next to yours in the yearbook! Everywhere I turned, there was someone I knew, and now I am looking forward to the next reunion.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I have one son, Aaron Poston, who also attended La Porte Highschool, and four grandchildren. Wow, how time does fly!
