Bonnie's Story

Life Travels: I've traveled for business and fun.. coast-to-coast and a few spots away from the good old U.S. Life: Most people have or have had, their share of challenges. I've had mine and can appreciate the joys, sadnesses, hopes and achievements of others. By their senior years, most people these days still look forward to more growth and continued learning. I certainly do. Color my world- I spent a good number of years as a professional artist, and now, no longer active in that field, I focus my creativity on digital scrapbooking. Have camera will travel- my 35mm SLRs have been replaced by the quick, spontaneous "snaps" of a Sony Digital Mavica. While resolution can't touch that of more current cameras, my "storage vault" of inexpensive photo "floppies" makes me smile. I don't ever have to empty them to take more photos. I can keep every desired frame forever. It's a psychological thing of course. Keep in mind as you read this, that as a compulsive collector I also feel the need to save every book, rock, and shell I touch! Grandchildren... Is there any greater blessing to Grandparents? I've so enjoyed sharing my husband's 4 grandchildren and watching them grow over the years. Now with my own little blue-eyed, curly blonde patch of family chromosones bouncing around, splashing in a toddler pool, giving "butterfly kisses", I have the opportunity to observe a "3- generation-geneology" at work in a fun and marvelous way! Trust me, when this bundle of mental and physical energy visits us, we have no problem burning up pleny of calories just trying to keep up! I swear I have never seen such fast hands! Little Vicki is 3 years old, now. When she visits, Vicki works with toddler computer programs...Expand for more
, investigates tools, nuts and bolts organized all around my husband's workbench... as a matter of fact, she investigates anything she can reach, anywhere... with those adept little fingers. As a Shriner, My husband Thomas, drives a hot little... and I do mean "little", yellow pick-up truck in many parades. When he's not "parading around", he's on the golf course. I move around "shooting" the parades, but the rest of my free time is either spent on the computer or around our Arizona yard and garden, harvesting and processing produce. Living in a suburban area means we don't have a large garden of course... but our warm climate allows year-round planting & harvesting. We also enjoy fresh oranges, apples, pink grapefruit, occasional years of almonds... mind you, a number of our trees are dwarf. We still manage to share our small bounty with neighbors, family and friends. Are you still with me? Well then, before closing, I'll just briefly mention the fun our 3 small bouncy dogs bring us. If you read my old and vanished-into- the-past bio, you might recall we had a fish pond. We donated all our koi and goldfish to the local zoo when the youngest grandchild came along. Open water is way too much temptation for little ones in any climate, but particularly so in the hot desert. So we go to the zoo to see our fish! If you enjoy rocks, collecting, scrapbooking, family themes, dogs, cats, animals, travel themes, Americana and the good old "Red, White, and Blue", you may feel like writing. If so, I'll be glad to hear from you. If you're curious about my adopted State - Arizona... well, I would not hesitate to share what I love about it. In any case, Dear Reader, I wish you the very best that life can offer.
