Bonnie's Story
Life
I have been married for 52 years. I live in Lakeland,Fl as my husbands' family is one of the oldest citrus families in Florida. I have 4 wonderful daughters and 4 grandsons. After my children all left for college, I began a wedding design and consulting business. It kept me very busy until just recently.
Three of my children graduated from the University of Florida and one from Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. One lives in St. Petersburg, 2 in Brandon, and another in New York City. My oldest is a Mental Health Therapist, The second is in the finance business in New York City. She worked for Lehman Brothers at the American Express building at the World Trade Center and was able to walk away from the terrible tragedy. The third is a Pre School teacher and the fourth is Manager of The Vitamin Discount Store in St.Petersburg.
It is great to see so many familiar names and am hoping to see everyone at our 55th reunion I am working on!!! We are avid Gator fans and go to all the home games. I also still play golf and we are die hard Tampa Bay Lightning fans(that is Tampa Bay's NHL hockey team, in case you wondered). I don'...Expand for more
t get to St.Pete very often as my life stays so hectic. Actually, since I wrote that statement, I have been getting over to St.Pete more and more. I have been meeting up with a lot of my oldest friends. It is so much fun. When I think I slept on the floor on towels next to Becky Hightower, and Karen Mullendore in Kindergarten at Lakewood Elementary and we are still having fun together, that is what life should be all about!!!!!!.
I also attended and planned the last five class parties we have had. I saw my friend Brad Todd, whom I haven't seen in 30 years and that made my day. We go back a long way.
I wish that everyone would come to a renunion as we won't be here for forever. I have lost several friends here in Lakeland over the last several years, and it make you realize life isn't forever. We have lost quite a few classmates in the last 2 years! I have survived a heart attack and a subdural hematoma in the last 10 months and they have made me realize how short life has become! So please think about coming to our next reunion. We have so much fun together.
I have retired from my consulting business and am trying to start playing golf again.
