More about Bonnie:"I'm so excited to have found everybody on FB! For those of you who didn't know, I am an ovarian cancer survivor, so please take a second to support the cause. Thanks! =)
Kevin and I got married in 1992 with the intention of waiting 5 years before having children, but had this feeling like we needed to try to have a baby asap. After several months of trying, we found out we were expecting! Long story short, she was born 9 weeks early because of (what we now know were) complications related to my cancer. When my baby girl was only 6 months old, I had an 8x10x12cm mass removed & was told it was malignant, but "not to worry about it any more since the tumor was completely removed." I changed doctors, underwent another surgery, found out that the cancer had spread to my nodes, and began chemotherapy. My hair came out by the handful (poor baby Morgan started pulling out her own hair-- I guess she thought that's the way it's supposed to be) and on our second wedding anniversary, my husband helped me shave the few remaining strands fro...Expand for more
m my head. Some people look good bald... I'm not one of those people! Thank God for hats and wigs! Talk about easy to get ready in the morning! But after all the chemo and singed, wait... no, melted synthetic hair (never open an oven door with a wig on!), we can look back now and laugh! (Never be afraid to tell someone their wig is melted--- it's all good!) My daughter had such an awesome responsibility and she wasn't even a year old. She saved my life. She gave me hope. She filled my heart with love and laughter... just like she does now! My miracle baby. My sweet Morgan. My gift from God. I am so thankful!
I have been cancer free for almost 18 years and have since welcomed 2 more miracle babies into the world, Jonah (12) and Nicolas (7). Each of them offer their unique challenges. Jonah has Asperger's syndrome, but is doing very well with simple behavior modification. (Not to mention his daddy is fabulous with him!) He is so smart (too smart for his own good). He's like a little professor. Nicolas is a sweetheart! He is all boy all the time. We've nicknamed him "Crash"! I didn't know that people could "acquire" permanent dimples from landing on their face! Life is unpredictable, but every day has the potential to be better than the one before! =)".
